Green Your Room With This Functional Accessory

The Plantscape! For plants and photos! Photo by Author.

Intro

If you’ve ever wanted to place plants and photos together on the same table then all of your problems have been solved! Interest in house plants has exploded since the pandemic began. Many individuals consider their little green friends to be a companion or second family member. My wife, in particular, was always a plant fanatic and had dozens of spunky succulents to bring just about every room in the house alive. We quickly ran into a problem that needed to be fixed somehow and that was the problem of space. Our photos were being moved from shelf space to accommodate more plants and we knew something needed to be done.

The Idea

Enter the Plantscape, an object capable of holding both a plant and a photo of one’s choosing! I designed the Plantscape in Tinkercad with both functionality and spatial constraints in mind. The frame should be sturdy enough to hold a plant without leaking water all over the photo below, and I was able to capture that with a couple of tweaks.

The photo itself is inserted through two slots on the side of the frame. Simply pull it through and you’ve got yourself a scenic Plantscape!
